How to Make Money Online

7 Truths About the “How to Make Money Online” Niche

If you are just getting started or have been trying things in the how to make money online niche and you are not seeing any results, then it could be because you entered the game with the wrong mindset.

I’m going to tell you what I mean by this. The how to make money online niche is a very competitive niche because everyone is trying to make money online as a vehicle to eventually be able to fire their boss. Therefore, it is extremely difficult to find a way to make it work for you if you don’t know what you are doing.

That said, here are 7 things that no one told you about the how to make money online niche that you should know or wish you knew before you got started.

It’s Tough to Start without Money

It’s not as easy as people make it out to be. It is actually very hard in the early stages, especially if you don’t have a lot of money to invest. Don’t get me wrong you can make a lot of money online but if you don’t have money to invest, it can take a very long time. If you want to reap immediate success online, and by success, I mean to be able to make thousands of dollars every month starting today, you will need some money to invest. That money will be invested in buying traffic as traffic is the key ingredient to making money online.

You’ll Lose Interest Fast

You will lose interest if you are not getting results and that’s why most businesses fail in the early stages of being started. As high as 94% of internet businesses fail in the first year. That’s because of the lack of funding to generate immediate results. For your internet business to work if you don’t have money to invest, your mindset should be that you are doing it for the long haul and not for immediate gratification.

You’ll Work Super Long Hours

You will work super long hours. I mean the two-hour work week that is promoted by internet marketers is impossible in the early stages of your online startup. Once again if you don’t know what you are doing and you don’t have money to invest. You will spend a lot of time trying and testing ways to get free traffic to your internet business until you find something that works, and this can take an awfully long time.

There’s a Steep Learning Curve

The learning curve is steep. You’re required to know how to manage websites, manage social media, manage your email software, how to split test, how to do SEO, how to come up with a marketing strategy and how to produce good content. There’s a lot to know if you want to become a successful internet entrepreneur. Although you can find the training for free it’s a lot of information to consume and it can take a lot of time to cover.

You’ll Not Get Rich Overnight

You will not get rich overnight. You must be willing to plow the soil. There is no easy street to internet success unless you have thousands of dollars to throw at it and I don’t advise that you throw cards at the wall and hope they stick. You will need to have a proper plan on how to grow and scale your business. The money and gains you make will be discouraging, to say the least, but the long term rewards are amazing I tell you.

You’ll Face High Competition

There are possible hundreds or maybe thousands of people doing the exact thing as you at any given time, targeting the same demography of people. That means you will need to set yourself apart. You must find a way to differentiate yourself and not be an exact replica of someone else who has carved out a market for themselves. This doesn’t mean you have to reinvent the wheel, but what it means is that you can see your competitor weak points and turn those into your strengths.

You Need to Have a Success Plan

The internet is big business. It’s no longer a place where you can just go and without a plan and just start throwing some content out there and realize success. You need a plan. And just as with any well-written business plan, you need to have certain key elements in your business plan.

  • You need a clearly defined vision and a mission for your business
  • You need to know what products or services you’ll be offering
  • You need a SWOT analysis
  • You need Marketing Strategy
  • You need a Budget
  • You need to work your break even analysis

Conclusion

There’s no doubt that you can make money online and you can do it really fast too if you know what you are doing. It’s easier to make money online if you have money to invest and if you do have some money stored away, I suggest you start the right way and invest a little bit of money in your business. The reason for that is that you will take it a lot more seriously than if you didn’t invest anything at all. The making money online niche is not as easy as people make it out to be but it’s extremely fulfilling when you do it right and you start to see the fruits of your labor.

  1. Wonderful blog! Do you have any tips and hints for aspiring writers?
I’m planning to start my own blog soon but I’m a little lost on everything.

Would you propose starting with a free platform like WordPress or go for a paid option?
There are so many options out there that I’m completely overwhelmed
    .. Any recommendations? Cheers!

    • If you want to do it seriously and by serious I mean perhaps make a living from in a year or so, I suggest (if you can afford it) you go for a professional self-hosted blog. The limitations are many with the free versions.

As it relates to tips for new bloggers, just be patient. It does take about 6 months of so to start getting a good amount of traction on your blog. Use those six months to create as much content as possible. The more the better. I say go for at least three posts per week. The next key thing is to target very good low competition keywords. I recently wrote a post about finding good keywords that you can check out.Good luck
